Care

Light: Fittonia nerve plants thrive in bright, indirect light. They prefer bright, filtered sunlight but should be protected from intense, direct sunlight that can scorch their leaves. They can also tolerate lower light conditions, but their colors may not be as vibrant.

Watering: Fittonia nerve plants prefer consistently moist soil. They are sensitive to both underwatering and overwatering. Water the plant when the top inch of soil feels slightly dry. Ensure thorough watering, allowing the excess water to drain away. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely or become waterlogged.

Soil: Fittonia nerve plants prefer well-draining soil that retains moisture. A mixture of peat moss, perlite, and regular potting soil or a soilless mix is suitable. This type of soil retains moisture while allowing excess water to drain away.

Fertilization: Fittonia nerve plants benefit from regular fertilization during the growing season (spring and summer). Use a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half the recommended strength every 4-6 weeks. Avoid fertilizing during the dormant period (fall and winter).

Humidity: Fittonia nerve plants prefer high humidity levels. They are native to tropical rainforests and thrive in humid environments. To increase humidity, you can use a humidifier, place the plant on a tray filled with water and pebbles, or mist the leaves regularly.

Temperature: Fittonia nerve plants prefer average to warm temperatures between 65-80°F (18-27°C). They are sensitive to cold drafts and temperature fluctuations. Protect them from cold air conditioning vents and keep them away from drafts.

Propagation: Fittonia nerve plants can be propagated through stem cuttings. Take a healthy stem cutting, remove the lower leaves, and place it in a glass of water or directly into moist potting soil. Roots will develop within a few weeks. Once the cutting has established roots, you can transplant it into its own pot.
